Here at Happy Days we stock an English brand Powell Craft. They produce vintage retro style clothes and nightwear for girls and boys. They make girls nightdresses based on original Victorian styles and the best selling "girls at play" dress and babygrow that many people comment it reminds them of the "Janet and John " books.

We love these retro styles from the past, my daughter had a Victorian seaside dressing up day at school,so this sailor dress was ideal. Since then she has worn it time and time again and feels very special in it ,pretending she was alive in an innocent time gone-by.

Retro children's rainwear

This is a funny time of year, it's supposed to be spring and is behaving more like winter. It hasn't stopped raining,but then we get pockets of lovely warm sunshine. It's like havimg four seaons in one day!

I'm not sure what coat is put my children in , their winter coat at times can be too warm and a thin rainmac is not warm enough.

Well on my website I have the perfect rainjacket for this time of year.

Made by Powell Craft , these shower resistant PU raincoat fully lined in soft towelling are great with popper fastening and two pockets. They also produce matching wellies and brollies.

Diamond Jubilee/ Union Jack babygrows

I was just reminiscing about the Silver Jubilee 35 years ago, I was just 7 years old, the same age my daughter is now in the Diamond Jubilee year. My school was Connaught House School in London and I remember it as clear as if it was yesterday. We all had to wear red , white and blue, I wore a white hooded jersey cotton dress with red and navy stripes. I must dig out some old pictures of the day, I'm sure they are somewhere around. We all had to bring in cakes with the red, white and blue theme, it was a great day and better than doing school work!

Funky Monkey t-shirts

" Funky Monkey" was a film comedy in 2004 about a boy genius Michael Dean (Adkins) who teams up with a super-talented chimpanzee and his caretaker (Modine) to take down an animal testing lab. In exchange the scientist gives the boy some pointers on the girl of his dreams.

Victorian seaside dressing up day

My daughter who is in year 2 has a Victorian seaside dressing up day and I thought what I am going to dress her in?

Then I realised one of my suppliers Powell Craft, who specialise in girls clothes with a retro /vintage feel would definitely have something.
